IN LOVING MEMORY OF ANDY APPLEGATE
Andy Applegate began his career in the security industry at the age of 24, after a friend from elementary school introduced him to Mattel Toys. He traveled the world installing fire systems, CCTV and access control for internationally based Mattel locations. Andy then went on to work distribution and later joined a major manufacturer based in the Sacramento area. He and Scott Crown eventually crossed paths through mutual friendships, and they instantaneously became friends. They both knew a future working relationship would be inevitable. And so, it went – Scott approached Andy in a most unconventional way (a story Scott would be enthusiastic about sharing) and asked him to join the Detection Systems/Radionics team. Andy accepted this offer. Eventually, he moved on from Detection Systems/Radionics to work for ADI as a Sales Manager in the Southern California and Hawaii regions. After 13 years spent at ADI, Andy saw an opportunity to come back and work with Scott Crown again, and what would become his PSR family.
Andy lived in the Pacific Northwest with his wife of 28 years, Jackie. Andy’s two children, Kaci and Thomas, live in the heartland of the U.S. Andy and Jackie loved to visit them and their seven grandchildren as often as possible. Andy had a passion for volunteering with his church and jumping on the back of his Harley, touring the country with his closest friends. It would come as no surprise to know that his license plate read: HOGFDAD. Andy will always be a huge part of the Professional Sales Representatives family and will be greatly missed by all that had the opportunity to know and spend time with him.
